Natural iodide for radioactive fallout protection

Sea vegetables such as kelp, khombu, wakame, hijiki, and dulse are natural sources of potassium iodide.  Iodine is a mineral necessary for formation of thyroid hormone.  Radioactive iodine can interfere with thyroid health, and lead to disease such as cancer.

Iosol iodine and other sources are healthy choices for supplemental forms.

DHA, an essential omega 3 fatty acid, especially prenatally, breastfeeding, and Alzheimers

The Alternative Medical Review, Vol 14, #4, 2009 contains a monogram reveiwing DHA, Docosaexaenoic Acid, an essential omega 3 fatty acid.

DHA is a key nutrient for healthy cell membrane structure that benefits membrane ability to exchange nutrients and waste,  enzyme reactions, and communication between cells  via hormone receptors or synapses.  It is found in breastmilk, sea algae, krill, fish, grass fed livestock, and can be formed from alph-linolenic acid from seeds or nuts (such as flax, pumpkin and hemp)

DHA is critical for nerve cell membrane function and is anti-inflammatory.  It is essential for brain and visual development in fetus, infants and children, and in preserving cognitive function in adults.   Most civilized, refined diets are DHA deficient.

More tips on Flu prevention

Dr. Vinay Goyal is an MBBS,DRM,DNB having clinical experience of over 20 years. He has worked in institutions like Hinduja Hospital , Bombay Hospital , Saifee Hospital , Tata Memorial etc.. Presently, he is head of Nuclear Medicine Department and
Thyroid clinic at Riddhivinayak Cardiac and Critical Centre, Malad (W).

The following message given by him with addition from me, Dr Brent Mathieu, makes a lot of sense and is important for all to know

The only portals of entry for the flu virus are the nostrils and mouth/throat. In a global epidemic of this nature, it's almost impossible to avoid coming into
contact with H1N1 in spite of all precautions. Contact with H1N1 is not so much
of a problem as proliferation is.

While you are still healthy and not showing any symptoms of H1N1 infection, in order to prevent proliferation, aggravation of symptoms and development of
secondary infections, some very simple steps, not fully highlighted in most official communications, can be practiced (instead of focusing on how to stock N95 or Tamiflu):

Cayenne - herbal healer and potential life-saver in heart attack

When I began studying naturopathic medicine at the National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, back in the late 1970s, renown herbalist Dr John Christopher came to speak at the college.  He shared his insight and experience on the master healing herb - Cayenne.  Besides its culinary use as a spice, Cayenne is a circulatory stimulant, that dilates arteries, and inhibits inflammation and clotting.  Dr Christopher reported his life experience that Cayenne can tremendously benefit during heart attacks.

I've not verified the benefit from personal experience with an actual heart attack victim, but my sense of the herb, and science indicates Doctor Christopher's experience is valid.  During a heart attack, typically the coronary arteries spasm and narrow, the artery lining is inflamed, and a clot forms that block the circulation to the heart muscle so that it dies unless circulation is restored.  Cayenne  has the needed actions to help.  It's anti-inflammatory, clot inhibiting and dilates blood vessels.
